Emma's Helping Hands Website Created!

Updated: Jan 16

Welcome and Hello to everyone! We are excited to finally get our website up and running. Our 2023 trip was very special, and was filled with powerful memories. Out of a desire to honor our mother, Emma Musonda Makungu, we felt such a responsibility to do her memory right. Everyone pitched in to help, and it was wonderful to have all our children helping with us as well.

Another aspect of getting the website online, is that we can say thank you to everyone who helped partner with us and contribute the effort to help those in need at Kaindu Village. It's still hard to believe that the people of Kaindu had never had outside assistance before. Serving here was really special.

On a more practical note, we hope this blog will give everyone a sense of our progress and upcoming planning.

As you can see, EHH has now established our Board of Directors. We are excited and grateful to Jena, Laura and Troy, who have agreed to serve in this way. At our upcoming meeting, we will be outlining our goals for 2024.

Looking back, we feel truly blessed to have met Dr Bruce Bvulani from the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. Beside being an amazing surgeon, Bruce is a very kind and dedicated gentleman. Because UTH is Zambia's major referral hospital, we hope to partner and learn from our new colleagues.

As we plan for 2024, in addition to clothes, food, school supplies and medicine, we hope to add a school building at Kaindu and provide additional resources at UTH. We hope to work closely with UTH to lend a helping hand to many more this coming year.

That's all for now. We are excited to connect with you. We hope to have our donations page better refined in the upcoming weeks. We will update you regularly, so feel free to check back as you can.
